9. Introduction An adverb is a word that tells us more about verbs. Many adverbs tell us how something is done. When answering the question “ how”, adverbs are usually created from adjectives with an added – ly ending. ( quick- quickly). This is the commonest way to use adverbs. However, there are various exceptions:
