Constellations By Rebecca Rockmaker And Cassy Ingersoll
What are constellations? • First thing you need to know about constellations is that they are not real. Constellations are imaginary things that poets, farmers, and scientists have made up over the past 6,000 years. They help us tell which stars are which, that’s it. On dark nights up to 1000-15000 stars are visible in the sky. By having constellations we can break up the sky into more manageable bits. Technically speaking they are mnemonics, or memory aids.
