TJ8300 Overview • The TJ8300 is a wide format digital printing device. • The TJ8300 works with inkjet technology. • The concept of the machine is based on using RIP files and printing them with various pre-print options. • The machine can be operated by a single person. • The machine is designed to work in a queue mode with different jobs. It can run one job after another automatically, even though the parameters are different for each job. • The machine is designed to work with a variety of substrates. • The machine works with roll-to-sheet. TJ8300 Structure • The TJ8300 station consists of the following sub-units: • Electronic cabinet and machine operation stand • Printing unit • Media feeding system (Loader) • Vacuum unit (machine No. 75 and newer) • Service unit – for vacuum and evacuation (up to machine No. 74) Note:All sub-units are assembled on the printing unit during the integration phase and do not need to be reassembled during installation. Printing Unit • This unit is the main part of the station. • The function of the printing unit is to: • Load rolled substrates onto the drum. • Print the image. • Unload the substrate towards the external dryer. Confidential

Vacuum Unit • Vacuum unit is included only in machine No. 75 and newer. • The vacuum unit consists of the following: • Vacuum pump – applying vacuum inside the drum in order to hold the substrate during printing • Silencer and isolated covers for noise reduction • Two fans Confidential

External Dryer Unit Confidential
External/Internal Dryer Units • The internal heating purpose is to warm the substrate sheet on the drum, in order to improve printing quality. The internal heating is provided by quartz heating units and the electrical fans, which are located above the drum. • The external dryer unit provides final drying of the printed sheet. • The external dryer includes: conveyers, pre-heating unit (hot air), IR heaters unit, controller unit, and a media collector. • The external dryer must dry substrates in throughput of up to 70 sheets per hour. Computer • Used for loading the image file, pre-press changes and printing. • Controls all machine systems. • The computer’s hardware sends the image information to the image processing hardware. Confidential
Image Processing Hardware • This hardware is responsible for converting the image file data to printing orders (CL, ML, Y, C, M, K). • Consists of the TPFM and the QLM (MTFX) units. • Hardware is controlled by the computer. • This unit sends the information to the ink drivers in the correct order (CL, ML, Y, C, M, K). Control Hardware • Includes various controllers. • These controllers are in charge of motion system in the printing unit and input/output devices. • This hardware includes several units and racks such as MCDU, Drum driver, Control unit and Electrical cabinet. • The control hardware is controlled by the computer. Power Supplies • This unit includes: • Supply unit – supplies and generates all required voltages for all components in the electrical cabinet and in the printing unit. • AC power transformer – generates only AC power. All of the AC power is supplied, first to the Supply unit and then to other components in the machine. Confidential

Loading System • Roll-to-sheet (RTS) • This unit prepares the substrate sheet for printing by loading it from the substrate roll, cutting it and transferring it onto the drum. Confidential
Drum • The drum holds the substrate sheet (using vacuum suction) during printing. • The drum rotates, with the substrate sheet on it, until the printing covers the entire substrate length. Confidential
Printing Device (Bridge) • The bridge consists of 3 main parts: • Bridge Motion – responsible for bridge movement during print. • Ink system components – responsible for providing ink for IJ heads. • IJ drivers – receive the printing data from the computer and “pass” it to the IJ heads. • This unit controls the actual printing on the substrate that lies on the drum. Unloading System • This unit ejects the substrate sheet from the drum after printing is completed. • The substrate sheet is then entered into the external dryer. Confidential
Internal Dryer • This unit warms the substrate and ink during printing. • Warming is accomplished using quartz heating units. Confidential
Power and Control signal brackets • Interface boards between the electrical cabinet and the printing unit. • Logical separation between power cables and control cables by the following interface boards which are located in the printing unit: • Power signal bracket • Control signal bracket • All of the control and power signals from the electrical cabinet, except the data printing signals, are “transferred” via the bracket boards.
