  1. Life in Cologne Have fun with my presentation =) From: Kathrin Heye

  2. History Cologne is an old Roman town. At that time it was called „Colonia Claudia Ara agrippinensium“. In 50 AD the first tents or houses were built. Even today we still find old Roman remains like dishes, walls or jugs. In Colgogne there are some museums which show these old remains… And this is an old Roman waterpipe. This is under our cathedral.

  3. Sights In Cologne there are a lot of sights. For example the famous „Kölner Dom“, the Cologne Zoo, the river Rhein, the subways, the city, very famous museums, the „Koeln Messe“, which has got big halls for economical fairs, the „Köln Arena“, the „Rhein Energie Stadium“ and much more.

  4. Carnival Carnival in Cologne is also very famous. It´s a festival in February. For six days the people dress like angels, cowboys, American Indians, Pippi Langstrumpf or wear other funny costumes. It´s great to watch a parade and catch candies like chocolate or Haribo bears. The older people drink a lot of beer and celebrate the whole night. The beer is called „Kölsch“ and is famous but it tastes like all the other beers->terrible. It´s a funny custom that on Thursday (the first Carnival day) the women cut the men‘s ties and rush into the town hall.

  5. Events Around the year there are a lot of great events in Cologne so that we have often thousands of guests and tourists. There are for example horse races in Weidenpesch, concerts or sports events in the „Köln Arena“ So all in all Cologne is a great city to visit !!!!!
