  1. Common FAQ - Eco Sol Max Ink Cartridges Did you know that Roland officially released its new range of Eco Sol Max ink cartridges? Known as Eco Sol Max 3 inks, these products represent the new generation of eco-solvent inks for roll-to-roll printers. But what does this mean to you and your business? You probably have some questions about these new products and how they can affect your operations. We’ve compiled some of the most FAQs with the best answers to help you learn more and make an informed choice to switch to better digital printing inks. 1. Are Eco Sol Max 3 inks suitable for my printer? The inks are formulated to work with a wide range of Roland Eco-Solvent printers: · XF-640 · VS-i Series · XR-640 · SP-i Series · BN-20 · RF-640 The inks are also compatible with legacy machines like XC-540, VP Series, VP-i Series, RE Series, VS Series, RS Series, and XJ Series. 2. What are the available colors and sizes? The new Eco Sol Max ink cartridges come in 500cc, making them bigger than the previous ones. The colors are cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, yellow, black, and light black. If you use white and metallic ink cartridges, you can upgrade to these inks and continue using your existing metallic and white inks.

  2. If you prefer smaller cartridges, these digital printing inks are also available in 220cc cartridges in C, M, Y, and K. However, these are ideal for BN-20 users. If you’re not using Eco Sol Max 2 white and metallic inks, you’ll have to upgrade in the process. 3. How to upgrade? Upgrading your system to use the new ink cartridges is easy. You can get online assistance and telephone support to complete the user upgrade. Simply order a full set of Eco Sol Max ink cartridges and the conversion kit, which should be free of charge. The conversion kit has a leaflet with the website address for instructions on firmware installation, the VersaWorks update, and other important actions. It should take about 60 to 90 minutes to upgrade your system. If you’re using white ink, there are additional steps involved that might make the update process slightly longer. 4. Is there any color variation from these new inks? You’ll likely notice some color variations from the output of these new inks, but they should be minimal. Roland Profile Center ensures accurate media profiling. The Profile Center is a new and free service that gives access to more than 1,000 media profiles and possibly more to meet the growing consumer demand and product development. You might also be wondering if the new inks have something special to them that the old ones didn’t have. These include faster drying times, cheaper cc of ink, larger cartridges, and improved performance. Eco Sol Max 3 also meets the up-to-date health and safety legislation requirements and bears the GREENGUARD Gold Certification to ensure that the inks are safe for environments like hospitals and schools. 5. Is there a difference in the price versus previous inks? A larger cartridge means a difference in the price. However, the cost per cc is significantly lower, resulting in improved and reduced running costs.
