Why is OpenSource a good thing? • Because the code is make public, anyone can modify it and/or create extensions for the program. • A community of developers works to find bugs and make improvements.
Why was Firefox created? • To provide an alternative to Microsoft Internet Explorer. • To create a more secure browsing experience. • To provide users with features which were previously unavailable to most.
How is it more secure? • Unlike Internet Explorer, Firefox is not integrated with the operating system. • It does not support ActiveX controls and VBScripts (these are known to have security holes).
