Solid Waste Recycling Program • 2009 8 Grants awarded totaling over $1.1 Million • 2010 15 Grants awarded totaling over $1.7 Million • Recycling Facility Regulations passed on June 25, 2010; effective August 3, 2010 • Recycling Registration Form will be available later this year • Manufacturing and fuel use facilities are not subject to recycling registration regulations

Solid Waste Remediation Program Solid Waste Fund Site Cleanup (FY2010) To date, 179 total eligible sites 42 sites completed with approximately 3,300 tons of solid waste disposed Approximately 60 sites in progress Over $1.6 Million committed to unauthorized dump remediation projects since program inception in June 2009

Scrap Tire Remediation Program Scrap Tire Fund Large Site Cleanup Removal activities in Prichard completed (August 2009 – March 2010) ~13,500 tons of scrap tires and tire materials removed Equivalent to more than 1.3 million passenger tire equivalents $798,039.90 paid for clean-up Over 60% of scrap tires beneficially reused Remediation activities in Samson, Geneva County to commence soon (Approx. 1,000,000 Tires) Scrap Tire Fund Small Site Cleanup (FY2010) 17 sites completed—approximately 40,000 scrap tires disposed 9 sites in progress $238,100 for cleanup of the 17 sites
