9. 9 DfE Formulator Program
Encourage the development of safer chemical formulations by
Providing information and consultation to formulators
Recognizing Partners with chemical formulations that are safer than other products in their class
Floor and carpet care products
Laundry detergents
Holding tank treatments
Surface finishes
New areas: Consumer products Reduced-risk pesticides(?)
10. 10 Formulator Program Criteria DfE recognizes products that are the most protective in their use class.
Ingredients are compared, on a hazard basis, to others in the same use class.
For more detailed information on Criteria please visit http://www.epa.gov/dfe/pubs/formulat/formulator-review1.pdf
11. 11 Recent Changes to the Formulator Program
DfE now requires Formulators to have their products reviewed by a a qualified third party before submitting to DfE due to increased interest which surpassed EPA’s capacity to process requests for partnership.
