Introduction • Suroboyan words are mostly rough but Surobayan people think that’s normal. Surobayan people only care about themselves so even though you their friend they still speak roughly to you. And now Suroboyan is in DANGER of becoming extinct!!! Many Surabayan words are gone or unpopular now!!! Surabayan words are Endangered now!
Purpose of Making a Survey • To get more information on words that are rarely used and to know which words are endangered.
There are lots of Suroboyoan words that are endangered such as ndika, ndengengok, dempis, dompis, praoto, metoto, mbendadakand many more.
Result Of The Survey • So this is the result of our survey of high school, elementary and also pre-elementary Indonesian teachers.
The High School Teachers green bar graph means (I know the meaning and I use it), the blue bar graph means (I know the meaning but I don’t use it) and the red bar graph means (I have never heard this word)

The Conclusion • Of 46 Suroboyoan words, some people understand them and some people don’t understand them. • Some people try to preserve the Surabayan dialect and some do not. Some do not because they think if they speak the Surabayan dialect people will think they are low class and uneducated because most people think that the Surabayan dialect is rough.
