  1. Running head: CRITIQUES TO RESEARCH 1 Questions and skepticisms within the field of addictions. Jacob Stotler Laramie County Community College

  2. 2 / 7 Abstract This writing highlights major and influential findings of a research report. The means of inspiration cover and supply the reader with elements needed to focus on the future and possibilities within the near future to find better and more optimal means of “curing” addiction. There are futuristic definitions to define the means on optimal routes to producing and manufacturing better and more in-tune and accessible and/or technical coping skills, psychologically, physiologically, medically or commercially.

  3. 3 / 7 An opportune of exposure to importance in the subjects of Addiction. A common approach to interviewing a reader’s attention and selling a work of writing is to use a quick coverage aspect, and treat writing like it is an addictive introduction to quickly reading something “easy”. Sometimes using poetry that pleases people’s instant gratification is more effective to target readers than treating serious topics, on serious levels. It seems to be more influential and educational to introduce an asset of importance rather than excluding anything regarding what is most important in addiction evaluations and research now. I read myself into a completely ground breaking article and believe that this is a good opportunity for the readers to become introduced to the writing, the study, this type of research and this type of access into science. It was written by Merlo, Lisa J. and Gold, Mark S. These authors bring numerous “state of the art” breakthroughs, as well as it is also claimed in the title; Addiction research and treatment: the state of the art in 2008. I must express my only skepticism about and underlying from this work is why are these concepts not more widely explained and represented? Why are not these accessible terms of gigantic movements not more widely used in education especially introduced in grade school / K-12? Would not this field be leaps and bounds ahead if these ideas were introduced early to the ideas of the people of the future? Furthermore, each one of us can further what we know about addiction and the relationships the body and the brain have with addictiveness and elements of common addiction.

  4. 4 / 7 If there was an element that is most important in addiction research and evaluation in the addiction field, it would be one that covers inclusively and one that does not setup a boundary but introduces opportunities. The article in short is important because it opens up many near minded recollections and some ideas that are not common, and perhaps are even rare. The inclusiveness of the writing introduces ideas that are “state of the art”, emboldening, and also introduces ideas that throughout the future, people will become more in tuned to the goals of research, science and the psychological remedies needed in addiction, science and psychological health and wealth. I would say that right now to look at what is important in the fields partaking in and parting with progress in addiction, this article is / can be explicitly important. The article introduces thoughts and scientific guidelines and communicates known facts of the parts of the brain that oblige to addiction mentioning the insula, the ventral tegmental area and neurotransmitters. These are important basis for knowledge when trying to completely abandon or conquer addictions either alone, or professionally, for people, their life and their personal outlooks. If we had not been exposed to these elements of addiction we would be without the root of important elements regarding why at least half of an addiction seems to be insatiable. With these basis of approach we are more in tuned to study, to research and also to come within a better grasp of what needs to be done to relegate an addiction and find concrete means to sustain abstinence, sobriety or manipulate an ability, to supply a permanent fault line to avoiding relapse.

  5. 5 / 7 The functions of the brain are identified regarding the brain’s reactions for and to addiction. This is a crucial point. Also what the writing made available was that nanotechnology and molecular mechanisms may be or are, within the outreaches of understanding and treatments for addiction.. (Merlo, Mark; 2008) When we are studying and researching addiction we are aware of the main issues, the main concerns, and possibly making it to the concerns of what is impossible regarding abstinence. What the writing breaches to the front of all of these issues is that we must accept that “state of the art studies” are within our reach. It is written that “patients with damage to the insula (a part of the brain that is continuous in creating urges) were more likely to be able to immediately quit smoking.” (Merlo & Mark, 2008) With facts like these, does it not seem rationale that taking more optimal opportunities and creating more organization of what is known about the mechanics and weaknesses of the brain and body, that even students now could be practicing their very own, “state of the art” secrets to overcoming addictions for the future? What is interesting about education especially within this tinge of analyzing the article is that, the facts involved define something different to every scholar and researcher. What this should mean is that somehow most everyone is at mercy of finding an advantage, because of the way they have acquired their experiences and backgrounds in different domains of the same research. We are aware of this much regarding addiction, this writing is a milestone and unforgettable asset to academic possibility of psychology and perhaps science/ research and
