My introduction • I chose my number one career cluster, Obstetrician because I have a great interest in the medical field.I’m very curious of how the human baby develops in the womb. Also to help people have healthy life styles for the fetus and infant stages. • Also helping prenatal care ( prepping the new mom)
Nature Of Work • Obstetricians are physicians who have specialized training in pregnancy management, prenatal care, and labor.
Working Conditions • Obstetricians work in clean and sterilized environments. • They have to work for long hours • the nature of the job requires them to be on call at all hours.
The things Obstetricians do • Care for and treat women during prenatal, natal and post-natal periods • Examine the fetus regularly to assess their growth and development. It’s a boy
Education ,Knowledge &Skills • Most of these occupations require graduate school. For example, they may require a master's degree, and some require a Ph.D. ,M.D. and J.D (law degree) you also need plenty of training and experience. • This job requires at least 8 to 12 years of school. • these are the thing I have to study when I go to medical school, Administration and Management, Personnel and Human Resources, Mathematics, Computers and Electronics, Public Safety and Security, Education and Training English Language, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Therapy and Counseling, Medicine, and Dentistry. • The skills are reading Comprehension, Active Listening ,Writing ,Speaking, Science, Critical Thinking.
Job outlook/ employment • Employment of physicians and surgeons is projected to grow 18 percent from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations. • Job growth will occur because of the continued expansion of healthcare-related industries.
Earnings/ payment • Obstetricians and Pediatricians make $60,000 up to $400,000 a year. Make it rain …
My backup plan • My back up plan is being a Pediatrician • Hours: 8 to 12 hour shifts • Why did I chose this job: I love working with kids and its still in the medical field
Summary • I don’t care how much I get or how little I get as long as I'm doing something I'm happy with I love my job and being a obgyn make me happy. I plan to go Harvard medical school in 2020 and I plan the have my medical license by the year 2028
