General Information. When: Open Registration Time Period Monday, 7/25/11 (12:00 pm) - Thursday, 8/4/11 (4:00 pm)What: Course Submission for Required First Year General Education Courses Only Religion 121 (First Year Religion) or Writing 111 (First Year Writing) Registration for other courses will be held on Tuesday 9/6/11 (Week One: On Campus).

4. Step 1: Logging on the SIS Log-in to the SIS with Email Username and Password
Under Student Menu: Click Registration
Are you Pre-registered?
Approved Music Majors ~ Will be registered into Music 111/113 courses ~Required to submit Religion or Writing preferences online.
Great Conversation Program ~ Will be registered into GCON sections. NO need to submit Religion or Writing preferences. The SIS will automatically register you into a Great Con course.
American Conversations Program ~ Will be registered into AMCON sections ~Half of the AmCon students will take Religion 121 in semester I. Remaining AmCon students take Religion 121 in semester II. Login into the SIS to see if you are required to submit Religion choices.
International Students ~ Will take a writing placement test on Saturday, September 3rd to determine which writing course to take.
5. Step 2: Check Assigned Course Category You have been randomly assigned to take Religion 121 or Writing 111 in fall semester (not both courses)
Click on “Add New Schedule.”
Using the Pull Down Menu in “Course” column (blank course slots)
Pull Down first menu to find assigned course category (Religion or Writing).
Exceptions:
AP/IB Credit: If you have a 5 score on Lit./Comp. or Lang./Comp, you do not need to take Writing 111, only Religion 121.
American Conversations: You do not need to take Writing 111.
Great Conversation: You do not need to take Religion 121 or Writing 111 (must complete full first year of Great Con to satisfy BTS-B & FYW credits)
International Students: Do not register for Religion 121 or Writing 111 online. You will take a writing placement test on Saturday, September 3rd to determine which writing course you should take.
6. Step 3: Selecting Courses Click on “Return to Schedule List”

Assigned Religion 121

Select 5-8 sections that sound interesting.
7. Step 4: Making Schedules Click “Add a New Schedule”
Select your Number 1 Choice Section
Click “Save and Validate Schedule”
Click “Return to Schedule List”
Only ONE section should be chosen per schedule and Add at least FIVE different schedules

8. Step 5: Add Alternate Schedules Repeat Step 4 to Add Alternate Section Choices
Submit 5-8 schedules. (1 section choice/schedule)
Order them according to interest.
Only submitting one schedule will most likely result in your being placed at random in a section that has room.
The SIS likes lots of different section options!!!

9. Step 6: Tracking The Tracking Tool:
The “pick table” shows results if registration were run right now. Tracking tool will be activated after students begin submitting section choices.
Updates often.
Gives you a sense of how popular your section choices are and your randomly assigned ranking (which determines the order of students during registration).
Tracking Tool Results do NOT guarantee results!!! **
Check back periodically while registration period is open
Modify order and Add more section choices as more students submit their schedules.
**Even if the tracking tool suggested that you might get into a class,
make sure that you keep alternative schedules in your list of schedules.
