SK Learning – New Requirements • Students in Grades 7 – 9 must complete 150 hours of PAA Survey courses. • Survey Course: configuration of modules from minimum of three PAA curricula • Should also include one career development module • New PAA requirements are in addition to Middle Level Career Guidance curriculum
What’s in place in our system now? • Several PAA courses offered to our students at Grades 10 – 12 • In addition, data shows our Grade 9’s currently take a minimum of 100 hours of PAA programming • Goal to pilot a number of options for integrating 50 hours of PAA into existing programs at Grades 7 & 8
OUR PLAN? • Design 25-hour options for teachers to choose from • Guidelines • Complement, not duplicate, PAA programming offered in high schools • Integrate curricula, projects, initiatives currently available in elementary schools

Some Dates • Invitation/Pilot Teachers identified • Dec 16 - Registration in Winter Survival • Jan 18 – Condensed version of Winter Survival for participating teachers • Jan 26 – all day meeting with pilot teachers • February – March – Classroom activities and Winter Survival experience • Tues., April 12 - Middle Level PAA Follow Up - 1:00 – 3:30 – Heritage Room
