Affirmative and negative nosotros commands are formed by using the nosotros present subjunctive forms. Pidamos una pizza. Let’sordera pizza. Paguemos la cuenta. Let’spaythe bill. No trabajemos hoy. Let’snotworktoday. No contaminemos el medio ambiente. Let’s not pollute the environment.
Nosotros commands can also be formed by using the construction vamos a + infinitive. Keep in mind that this construction can also mean we’re going to (do something). Context and tone of voice will help to distinguish between the two. ¡Vamos a comer! Let’seat! Vamos a comer. We’re going to eat.
The affirmative nosotros command form of the verb ir is vamos. The negative form is no vayamos. Vamos a la playa. Let’s go to the beach. No vayamos a la escuela. Let’s not go to school.
Object pronouns are attached directly to the end of affirmative commands. An accent mark is added to the stressed syllable to maintain the stress in the verb. Llenemos el formulario. Let’s fill out the form. Llenémoslo. Let’s fill it out. Leamos los documentos. Let’sread the documents. Leámoslos. Let’sreadthem.
With negative commands, the pronouns precede the verb. No hagamos nuestra tarea. Let’snot do ourhomework. No la hagamos. Let’snot do it.
