Positive Behaviour System Behaviour Award System Granville South has a whole-school, cumulative behaviour award system. All teachers are to use this system as part of the positive reinforcement they use in the classroom, playground and during other school related activities. The Granville South PS Behaviour Award system is based on school commendations. Commendations To standardise the giving of awards across the school commendation, certificates will be given. These will be in the form of a small commendation award (orange in colour). All staff will have commendations ready for access. This is an immediate reward for a student who displays appropriate behaviour. Students are responsible for keeping and collecting their own awards. These awards are given out by all staff. Students can receive commendations for any excellent behaviour in any situation e.g. classroom, library, literacy sessions, office etc. It is the staff’s responsibility to award the commendations. Procedures Children are responsible for keeping their awards. Progressive awards are given for commendation awards as per table below
