Illinois AVN Structure • Statutory authority given to the Attorney General to establish & maintain the system • Advisory Committee created by statute • State entities mandated to participate • County participation is voluntary • County Officials sign Intergovernmental Agreements
Illinois AVNImplementation • Establish Advisory Committee early • Seek input and buy-in from stakeholders • Discuss the concept with all involved parties • This is more than a tool – it is a philosophy • Ensure sustainability in the beginning • Dealing with the “What if….”
