Steps to change a pt. from one pavilion to another When you open Medipac, check to see what Pavilion are you in? 1. Check to see what PAV you are in
2. Change pavilion if you are searching for a patient in another pavilion to transfer 1. Change number to reflect the correct Pavilion 2. The activity of changing Pavilion must be done, separately, before searching for the patient
Change function to CENI Type CENI in function field, then hitENTER KEY
Select unit on Census Inquiry screen where patient currently is 1. Notice: Header indicates Heart and Vascular Inst. to help you know what Pavilion you are in. 2. Type in Nursing unit that you want to search and hit ENTER KEY
Type appropriate line number to select desired patient Pt. is in bed 5001 which is line item 01. Place line number where the cursor is blinking and hit ENTER KEY**the leading zero is not required.
When patient is selected, Shift / Tab to function field and type NXFE Then hit enter key
Hit enter on nurse unit transfer screen with patient selected After checking that the correct patient is selected, hit enter key
Change PAV 2. Change to PAV 1 1. Notice current location bed is listed with the PAV identifying number before the nursing unit
Change nursing unit ID 1. Change to nursing unit to which you want to transfer the patient 2. Hit F9 to find beds on unit to which you want to transfer patient
Select the correct bed to which to transfer the patient Identify the correct available bed and place the corresponding line number where the cursor is blinking and hit enter key
Note: Transfer Complete Transfer Complete: identifies that transaction is finished
Final thoughts • The reverse process for a patient from PAV 1 transferring to PAV4 would follow the same steps. • Remember to make sure you are searching for the patient in the correct pavilion • If you had to change pavilion on the first screen to find the patient; be sure to change back to your primary pavilion after transaction is complete
