More than 30% of Europeans will be 65 or over in 2025. Chronic conditions are going up just as a shortage of specialists and carers emerges. …a huge care gap unless technology fills it. It means our systems are guaranteed to collapse if we do not make radical changes • EC - Innovation Partnership on Active & Healthy Ageing (Mar. 2011 • Key dimensions: • Being active locally and regionally but benefiting from global knowledge and experiences; • Focusing on implementation and tangible results to the citizens through coordinated actions; • Thinking outside of the usual channels, structures and definitions

Objectives Personalisation of an intuitive, easy-to-use videoconferencing system to assist ageing / disable / chronically ill people with limited ICT experience to help ageing people to • Stay healthy, socially active, well informed, safely assisted, • At their own home, personally autonomous, for longer Activities • Identification of needs (with social/health professionals) • Description of real life scenarios within the target groups • Design, identification, personalization of appropriate ICT tools • Test with real users at every identified scenario • In depth evaluation and redesign of solutions with family, carers, and professionals
