WASH Cluster – Emergency Training UF Key Learning Points • The importance of : • Considering potential health risks such as malaria and diarrhoeal diseases • Good coordination with local authorities encouraged to “lead” the response, where appropriate • Consultation with the affected community • There is a sequence in carrying out rapid assessment of flood-damaged municipal water treatment plants and distribution systems • There are immediate sanitation considerations, especially excreta disposal. Hygiene Promotion and community mobilisation is a key element. UF2
