  22. Vocabulary Review Angle- a figure formed by two rays with a common endpoint. Vertex- the common endpoint of the sides of the angle Interior of an angle- the set of all points between the sides of an angle Exterior of an angle- the set of all points outside an angle Measure- angles are measured in degrees. Degree- a unit of angle measure Acute angle- an angle that measures greater than and less than 90˚ Right angle- an angle that measures 90˚ Obtuse angle- an angle that measures greater than 90˚ and less than 180˚ Straight angle- an angle that measure 180˚

  23. Vocabulary Drawings • Draw an angle and label the interior and exterior of the angle.

  24. Vocabulary Drawings • Draw an angle. Label the vertex. Write all of the different ways you can name the angle.

  25. Types of Angles Acute Angles Right Angle

  26. Types of Angles Obtuse Angles Straight Angle

  27. Measuring and Classifying Angles Draw an angle then measure your angle using a protractor.

  28. Measuring and Classifying Angles Draw a different size angle and measure your angle with your protractor

  29. Measuring and Classifying Angles Draw an angle and have your partner measure your angle. Check to see if they are correct.

  30. Measuring and Classifying Angles For questions 1 and 2, name each angle in three ways

  31. Measuring and Classifying Angles Name three different angles in the figure.

  32. Measuring and Classifying Angles

  33. Measuring and Classifying Angles • Use a protractor to measure the angles to the nearest degree. Then classify the angle.

  34. Measuring and Classifying Angles • Use a protractor to measure the angles to the nearest degree. Then classify the angle.

  35. Measuring and Classifying Angles • Use a protractor to measure the angles to the nearest degree. Then classify the angle.

  36. Discussion • Without looking at your notes who can answer the following questions. • We can classify an angle 4 different ways. What are the four types of angles? • What is the name of the tool used to measure an angle? • What is the unit of measure used to measure an angle?
