HOW DO I CONSTRUCT A QUIZ ON EEVEC A quiz tool called ‘EROS’ (Edinburgh Re-usable Object Sequencer) has been developed for use in EEVeC. Actually, as its name implies, it can also do the job of simply showing a sequence of objects such as images. You can request that a module be set up for you (steve.fox@ed.ac.uk). Your new module will then appear in a link on the left side of your home page called MyCAL. It is then a simple job to set up the pages in order to construct a quiz. MyCAL LOCATION
HERE IS THE LINK TO YOUR MODULE THE EROS HOME PAGE
HERE YOU WILL FIND THE MODULES YOU HAVE REQUESTED FROM STEVE FOX (LTS) THE START OF A NEW MODULE
THIS IS THE START OF A NEW MODULE THE FIRST PAGE
1. YOU HAVE A NUMBER OF CHOICES OF PAGE TYPE 2. THE FIRST PAGE WOULD USUALLY BE AN INFORMATION PAGE TELLING WHAT THE MODULE IS. ADDING A SECOND PAGE
HAVING ESTABLISHED THE INFORMATION PAGE, YOU CAN NOW INSERT THE FIRST QUESTION PAGE FIRST STEP OF SET-UP
1. YOU CHOOSE QUESTION TYPE (OFTEN MCQ) This transmission electron micrograph of a pancreatic acinar cell shows… 2. YOU PASTE IN QUESTION (AND ANSWERS AND FEEDBACK) FROM A WORD DOCUMENT 3. YOU CHOOSE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE MARKING AND WHETHER ‘LATENT’ OR NOT. SECOND STEP OF SET-UP
...large amounts of endosomal membrane consistent with extensive endocytosis. No The stacked membranes that you see are rough ER ...large amounts of rough endoplasmic reticulum consistent with its secretory function . ...large amounts of smooth endoplasmic reticulum consistent with its secretory function. No. The smooth ER does not have ribosomes and is not involved in secretion Yes. The cytoplasm is packed with rough ER. Next Step >> INFORMATION MATCHING FREE TEXT MATHS ESSAY MCQ Multiple Choice Question – Editing Mode Step1:2:3 You are now editing an MCQ question Question This transmission electron micrograph of a pancreatic acinar cell shows.... What is the % occupancy of a receptor with Kd = 100 nM when the free ligand concentration is *A* nM (round to one decimal point) THE MATHS OPTION ALLOWS USE OF VARIABLES SO THAT EACH VISIT TO A QUESTION IS DIFFERENT THE VARIABLE APPEARS BETWEEN ASTERISKS SET LIMITS OF VARIABLE
YOU SET LIMITS OVER WHICH THE VARIABLE CAN VARY PROVIDE FORMULA
YOU ADD THE FORMULA WHICH USES THE VARIABLE (IN THIS CASE THE CONCENTRATION OF LIGAND) TO CALCULATE THE ANSWER (IN THIS CASE THE % OCCUPANCY OF RECEPTOR) PREVIEW QUESTION
HERE THE VARIABLE IS 15 NANOMOLAR ADDING A SCORE SUMMARY PAGE
THE SCORE SUMMARY PAGE REPORTS THE CUMULATIVE SCORE SHOWING THE CAL SEQUENCE
