Goal of Project: To create a toaster that will create perfect bread in under 1 millisecond. The Innovation: The Lumenatic Laser Toaster harnesses the power of “lasers” to toast bread to the desired brownness level in under 0.5 milliseconds! Figure 1: The Lumenatic Laser Toaster uses micro laser technology to reduce bread toasting time to a fraction of what it is for commercially available toasters. • Development Pathways: • Any money we win will be funneled into research to solve the laser overheating problems and reduce cost. • Goal is to produce a functioning prototype. • Will contact leading toaster companies after a patent is filed. • Will investigate licensing the Intellectual Property.
