  2. Functions and uses of a Medical Centrifuge • A centrifuge uses of the principle of centrifugal force (a pushing force felt by the body while moving in a circular motion). • This happens due to inertia, the basic property of all matter to oppose changes in velocity.

  3. Applications of a Medical Centrifuge: • One can find a centrifuge in every medical space such as hospitals or research laboratory. This device is highly efficient, adjustable, and versatile with some great applications such as: • Blood Sample Separation: A medical centrifuge uses small samples to process the liquid collected in a tube. It separates the samples of blood into upper plasma layer, a thin layer of platelets and White Blood Cells, and a last layer of the Red Blood Cells. • DNA/ RNA Separation: It is a two-step process in which the medical examiner spins the sample at the top for a while and further carries out the second step using chemicals.
