3. What is the asphalt finisher used for finishing with pavement?   The asphalt finisher uses a heavy machine that performs the pallet construction of the base layer and the surface layer which is the final process of asphalt pavement work.  As a structure, it is divided into a tractor section equipped with a self-propelled function, a hopper filled with heated asphalt mixture, and a screed which presses out the asphalt mixture on the paved surface and disposes of it.  The asphalt mixture that has been carried in the dump truck is first stored in the hopper, and if it can fill the amount necessary for construction, it sends it to the screen with a roller and spreads the putty on the road so that it is filled with a spatula…… Previous Next Next

4.  The quality control method of asphalt construction  Strict quality control standards are established for asphalt pavement which is supposed to be used for many years.  Since the asphalt mixture is a “paste”, there are various factors that determine the quality, such as the temperature during mixing, the degree of mixing, and whether the pressure reduction is secure.  At the same time, there is also difficult to judge simply by looking at the pavement from the outward appearance. 5.  Pull flooring test to check the failure of the roadbed  The pull flooring test is a test conducted before the asphalt mixture is laid, at the stage when the roadbed is exposed.  Pass out a loaded dump truck etc. on the crushed stone of the compacted roadbed and check whether there is any problem on the roadbed surface after passing through the track.  The examination is done by visual observation, and if you find a defective part on the roadbed surface, you need to take some remedial measures such as temporarily removing the material used in that part and replacing it with good quality material. 6.  Check the amount of asphalt without core  Core removal is a test that is performed after the completion of spreading asphalt mixture and after drying is completed. Determinate points randomly on the finished paved surface, drill holes in the place and pull out a part of the asphalt mixture spread over the surface layer and base layer.  You can see from the sampled model whether the aggregate contained in the mixture meets the prescribed particle size, the asphalt at the bridge is how much the specified amount is used or how compacted by compaction. It is an important test to check the quality of the surface layer and the base layer which are exposed to the weathering and load most in the pavement. Previous Next Next

7.  Check compaction degree of roadbed in field density test  The density test is a quality test conducted after the roadbed finishes. Drill a hole in the compacted roadbed to recover a part of the roadbed material and fill the empty hole with sand. This is a construction method called sand substitution method, and we first reveal the volume according to how much sand entered.  Consider the recovered roadbed material and divide it by the volume that was clarified ahead of time to derive the density of the roadbed material by calculation. If the roadbed is tightly compacted, it should satisfy the prescribed density, so it is the dimension that you can check the compaction condition of the road by measuring the density.  The degree of compaction is directly linked to the load carrying capacity of the roadbed, and if the compaction is insufficient, there is a danger that the paved surface can withstand the weight of the car traveling above it. 8.  Flatness test checks road flatness  The flatness test is a test carried out after the finish of the surface asphalt mixture is completed. Use a flatness measuring instrument such as a wheelbarrow called 3 ⅿ profile meter and check whether the pavement surface is flattened neatly.  If the pavement surface is not flat, rainwater may accumulate in unintended places and become a puddle, or it may become a problem to the person passing over.
