EDM Cryostat Plan D • 0.8m (30”) diameter x 2m long fiberglass enclosure tube with metal flanges • Thin copper foil HV ground-plane glued to enclosure tube inner surface • Inside: target cell/electrode assembly, light guides • Cos θ magnet outside enclosure • RF coils • Ferromagnetic Shield – location determined by Cos θ magnet uniformity requirements

  4. EDM Cryostat Plan D (2) • Superconducting shield – lead layer supported by aluminum can – 4°K • Heat shield - 50°K • μMetal shield - 300°K • Vacuum Can ? • Cryogenic polarized 3He bend to target preparation vessel • Helium purifier ???
