  2. In 1965, Walt Disney announced to the public his plans for opening a second park in Orlando, Florida • The first park created was Disneyland in California • He believed the company needed to expand to the other half of the United States • The first & largest park in Disney World that Walt created himself is the Magic Kingdom • Sadly, Disney died before he saw his second park, Epcot, finished • Today, there are 4 theme parks, 2 water parks & 23 on-site themed resort hotels • Walt Disney World Resort is the largest & most visited recreational resort in the world

  3. Magic Kingdom is home to Cinderella’s Castle and many other iconic attractions, such as: Dumbo, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Main Street in Magic Kingdom is an icon in itself, as well. It’s the first thing you see when you enter the park and branching from that street is every child’s dream come true—adventure, wonder, and imagination. They can visit six different, exciting lands when they leave Main Street.

  4. is known foremost for the Epcot Ball which has an attraction ride inside. It’s also unique because the monorail only goes between two parks: it and the Magic Kingdom. You can experience culture and cuisine from 11 different countries when you walk around the World Showcase. Three crowd drawing attractions are: Mission Space (you become the astronaut), Test Track (you become a test crash dummy), and the newest addition Soarin’ (you are hang gliding all over the world). IllumiNations is a new multicultural laser and light show that is only done during certain after hours.

  5. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is packed with fun and excitement for every age! There is a whole section of the park devoted to Toy Story with interactive games and rides for children. For the thrill seeker there is Aerosmith’s Rock n Rollercoaster that speeds around curves and flips the rider upside down. If you are interested in being terrified check out the Tower of Terror where you are taken back to the Twilight Zone and dropped 13 stories. Hollywood Studios also has great behind the scenes opportunities, such as: the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, the Backlot Tour, or the Extreme Stunt show. Whatever the age or interest Hollywood Studios has it for you!

  6. Animal Kingdom is Disney’s newest edition to the family. It has exhilarating, once in a lifetime experiences to offer, such as: Kilimajaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids, Expedition Everest, and DINOSAUR. All of these attractions are unique and offer a look into a different time period and a different part of the world! Don’t forget a picture in front of the tree of life—a tree covered in animal carvings and other beautiful markings.
