PLACEMENT INFO • Registering in practicum: 2 Year MSW placement SOWK 5350 • MUST complete 600 hours of placement “on site” • Hours: • Regular working day at the agency • Lunch not counted • Sick time and statutory holidays not counted
COMPONENTS OF THE PLACEMENT • PRS • Learning Contract • Mid-term Evaluation • Final Evaluation • Student Evaluation of Placement • Log of Hours
THE LEARNING CONTRACT • Completed in first 3 weeks • Two Components • Joint effort • Living document • Use to assess learning • Responsible for learning • Submit to PRS Director
MID TERM EVALUATION • Completed midway through placement (300 hours) • Joint Effort • Submit to PRS Director • CHECK POINT • Revise Learning contract
FINAL EVALUATION • Joint Process • Submit to PRS Director • Credit process • Guidelines for June convocation • May 5th • No Surprises • Supervision is key
