BSK Science Fair • What do you need to do? • Think of a question that can be answered by carrying out an experiment. • Examples:- • (1) Do plants grow taller the more light they receive? • (2) Which soft drink results in more tooth decay?
BSK Science Fair • What do I do next? • Write a short research paper on your experiment. • The research paper should include the following sections:- • (1) Title • (2) Question: what you are trying to find out • (3) Prediction: what do you predict will happen • (4) Materials: A listof materials that you used • (5) Procedure: Step-by-step how you did the experiment • (6) Results: Graphs/results tables • (7) Conclusion: A summary of your results. What did you find out? • (8) Acknowledgements: Thank yous • (9) References: List of books/websites used
Deadline Thursday 1 December
What next? • If you are successful, you will be informed before the December holidays by Miss Alya. • You will then need to prepare a 3-sided display board summarising your project. • On Monday 16th January (Science Day) you will be invited to the Science Fair Exhibition at BSK with your display board. • No formal presentation is required, but be prepared to answer any questions on your project. • Winners will be announced during the Science Week Assembly. This presentation will be available on the BSK VLE
