  2. Who was Dr. Seuss? Dr. Seuss was born on March 2, 1904. His real name was Theodore (Ted) Seuss Geisel. Dr. Seuss was his “pen” name. Maybe he used Seuss because it was his middle name and added the “Dr.” just for fun. This is a picture of Dr. Seuss and his wife Helen which he met while in college at Dartmouth.

  3. The first book he wrote for children was called And To Think I Saw It On Mulberry Street.

  4. The Cat in the Hat is Dr. Seuss’ most famous book.He wrote it as a school reader and it was instantly loved by children and teachers.

  5. Dr. Seuss wrote Green Eggs and Ham after a friend bet him that he could not write a book with only using 50 words.

  6. Another of Dr. Seuss’ most famous stories is a holiday book called How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
