  6. Background info of Offender • Born January 22, 1988 • Committed crime at age 13 • Was bullied as a kid and was considered a loner. • Liked the spend time with his grandparents

  7. Impact on Victims family • Dale and Doreen Robie grieved over the loss of their son. • "The hardest thing for me is when somebody asks me, 'How many children do you have,'" says Doreen Robie. "Most of the time I simply say, 'I have one boy, here at home. And I have one boy waiting in heaven for me.'" • Dalton Robie said . "All I really know is that I had a brother," he says.   9. Punishment Received • Jury found Smith guilty of Second Degree Murder and tried as an Adult • Sentenced to 9 to life in Prison • Tried to apply for parole and was denied every time • Is being held in a maximum security prison

  10. Where is he now? • He was transferred to the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York in maximum security prison. • April 9, 2010 is still at the correctional facility • Will be up for parole again in May of 2012
