  1. IHE PCD Quick Updates • IHE PCD Face-to-Face, Cleveland, Ohio • Wednesday Q2, April 2, 2014 • Paul Schluter, GE Healthcare • Q2: Continua, mHealth and HIMSS

  2. Continua, mHealth and HIMSS Continua has merged with the mHealth Summit to create the Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHA), an independently operated HIMSS organization, whose mission will be to represent the consumer voice in personal connected health. The Continua and mHealth Summit brands will remain unchanged, but will collaborate as part of PCHA to empower individuals to better manage their health through personal health technologies. Continua’s vision and mission, Board of Directors, working groups, Continua Guidelines, certification process, voting, events and dues structure will remain unchanged, with the exception of five new Board members joining from the mHealth Summit to facilitate close collaboration between our organizations. PCHA will operate separately from HIMSS, as HIMSS continues to serve the needs of the provider-based HIT market. However, there are significant synergies PCHA can leverage. For example, the new Alliance will benefit from HIMSS’ significant global presence in the HIT market, as its reach and access to content will support the market adoption of Continua based solutions. … In addition, Continua, as part of PCHA, will gain access to new members within HIMSS that are developing technologies for electronic health records (EHR). [Effective February 24, 2014, announced at HIMSS14.]
