  3. Mass • What is Mass? • The measure of how muchmatter something contains. • Mass IS NOT Weight • Weight measures the force of gravity on something

  6. Mass • Summary: The base unit for measuring mass in the metric system is the gram. One penny equals about 2 ½ grams. Grams are measured with a tool called the Triple Beam Balance.
