IHDP Objectives: Milestones and expected results Partners Industrial Transformation (IT) Project of the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) IT Research Project “Carbon Flows between Eastern & Western Europe”* (CFEWE) Focus of IT: Energy and Material Flows Research Questions: • To what extent and in what way is climate change policy likely to affect the flow of energy and carbon resources between Eastern and Western Europe? • How will these policies and flows of carbon affect the investments in the energy sector and the forestry and biomass sector in Europe? • How will these various economies go through a transformation of the energy and forestry sector so that longer term climate policy goals are met, and how will these transformations affect one another? • What are the options of generating mutual benefits for both Eastern and Western European economies?
