The Occupation of the Silversmith • Silversmiths used metals like gold, silver, brass, and copper. • They melted these metals down and poured them into molds, and made things from swords to spoons. • They engraved their mark on these objects made by their hand such as an initial or their last name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Blacksmith_working.jpg
Money in Hiding In the days of the 1700s, many people were worried about their money being stolen.
