Universal Access Ascot Kindergarten
Background • For the past two years the kinder has been exploring options to ensure we can provide access to 15 hours of kinder in 2013. • There are significant challenges to meet these obligations but we are finalising arrangements and we are seeking feedback from all stakeholders. • Your input is Vital and Valued
KEY FACTS • Sessions run across 4 days • Shorter sessions allow for more effective implementation of play-based learning as there are fewer transitions required, allowing more time for uninterrupted play. • Shorter sessions allow for continuity of care whereby educators are able to remain with the group for the entirety of the session. Longer sessions must take into consideration regulatory breaks, meaning a change of staff during a single session.
Best Start • The Kinder is committed to provide the best start to lifelong learning for the children in our community and we are trying to develop a program that ensures we have.. • Happy Children! • Happy staff! • Happy Families!
What’s next • Staff feedback session. • Feedback will be collated • Committee to adopt new model at Special Committee meeting in July • Fees will be determined on the chosen model and released in September • Please see FAQs on our website for more details
