What is a Flexitank? The Flexitank is an ideal product to transport all kinds of non-hazardous liquids and chemicals, generally in a standard 20' dry container. Flexitanks are easy to install and optimizes the use of the container space. The Flexitank can be loaded with a variety of non - hazardous liquids such as latex, wine, lubricants, additives, edible oils and many more. The one-way disposable Flexitank virtually eliminates the possibility of contamination and is easily disposed off without causing any environmental issues. Philton Polythene Converters
History of the Flexitanks • Have been used for over 20 years. • Original Flexitanks were made of Butyl rubber. Very expensive to made, reposition, clean and repair. • PVC tanks were a cheaper option but still expensive to reposition, clean and repair. • Multi-ply PE tanks are the cheapest and most widely used single trip option. • Single ply PE tanks also used in certain markets. • Market has grown from approximately 1,000 loads p.a. to more than 300,000 p.a. This is increasing approximately 10% p.a. Philton Polythene Converters
Benefits of PPC Flexitanks • Simple, reliable and economical • Fast loading / discharging time • High space utilization • Environment friendly • No risk of cargo contamination • Low storage cost for empty tanks • Covered by a factory warranty and product liability insurance Philton Polythene Converters
Disadvantages of small bulk containers Drums (Steel / Plastic) • High cost of packing • High labour cost • Long stuffing time required • Low space utilization • Disposal problems • Intermediate Bulk Containers • Not always available • Expensive • Heavy reliance for return load • Need forklift equipment • Long stuffing time required Philton Polythene Converters
Disadvantages of bulk shipping ISO Tank Container • Not always available • High rental / shipping cost • High cleaning cost • Slow to position • Heavy reliance on return load • Parcel Chemical Tanker • Not always available • Slow to position • Require large cargo volume • Port to Port only • Heavy reliance on bulking installation Philton Polythene Converters
Multi-ply PE Flexitanks • Constructed of different individually welded layers • Can have an internal or external barrier layer • Security in our unique testing system • Excellent Quality record. Philton Polythene Converters
Single Ply PE Flexitanks • Single membrane 1mm thick • Excellent for Viscous products • Good for products effected by moisture • Double welding system • Very Robust and strong Philton Polythene Converters

Environmental Policy and procedures Philton recommend Flexitanks are disposed of in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. The following options are recommended. Ensure residues are at a minimum. Check MSDS for handling warnings. • Reuse materials–The Flexitanks components can be separated and where possible re-used, as long as the product previously carried will not cause any adverse health affects. • Recycling –Separate the Flexitanks components to their constituent materials and either cut up or bale the materials together for collection by an approved recycling contractor. • Incineration –Sending to a registered incinerator can create value in terms of the energy it can derive.
