If you travelled across Africa, you would see many types of climate and lots of different plants and trees... Climate
The North and East of Africa is hot and dry Climate and Vegetation In the “drylands” trees, plants and grasses grow under difficult conditions. In some desert areas no vegetation grows at all.

In order to survive, people have chopped down lots of trees in the Sahel. This is called deforestation. Once the trees are gone, the soil becomes dry and new plants cannot grow.
