  1. APA Style & Format Editing Tips for Dissertation & Thesis Students You will most certainly be required to write and submit your dissertation or thesis in the format  that the American Psychical Association (APA) requires when you are in a social science or psychology programme.

  2. What is the APA Format and Style? APA and design are the writing types that the  American Psychological Association ( APA) publishes in its publication.  The theme can be seen on almost any school  bookstore in the comparison portion of the APA Publicization Manual.  The APA manual in design and structure is in its fifth version and  the APA model is well recognized for its quality in psychological and education research.

The APA Handbook is extensive and detailed, and  is difficult to use by many students and scholars.  We have here compiled a few of the most common APA  style and format rules to help people write their dissertations and theses.  This collection is not a substitute  for a thesis consultant's detailed line-by-line help.  A contractor can edit the whole job in the APA design and structure and will  allow you more flexibility for other jobs relevant to the research, such as security planning.

Use of Headings in Your Dissertation or Thesis Your font size should be at least 12 and your style  should be Courier or Times New Roman. APA format and style dictate  Most theses will use a  minimum of three levels of heading.  The APA format and heading style can be  confusing and are best left to a thesis advisor.

Avoiding Bias in Your Dissertation or Thesis You must avoid using biased language by using a  style and format of APA in your dissertation or thesis.  It doesn't  seem so fast.  Do not use some kind of  terminology that can disturb anyone while composing.  Do not use ethnic labels such as "Hispanic" as the general rule  for APA styles and formats when you can use "Mexican American" geographical labels.  Should not say 'homosexuals' because  of 'married guys' or lesbians.'  This format and style, unlike punctuation,  may be more complicated and subjective.  Nonetheless, a professional understands the kind of prejudice you like  in your research and will adjust your language usage easily.

  6. Capitalization in Your Dissertation or Thesis Many of the students do not know how the style and format requirements of APA can be capitalised. In your dissertation or thesis, use the following guidelines for capitalisation:  Capitalize test names (for example, "How to Fulfill a Dissertation Test").  In the headings, names and subtitles, focus on big words with four letters or more.  Capitalize department or course names, for example "The Way to Complete a Dissertation Course" at the University of Dissertation recruited students.  Do not include the terms of ideas or theories.  If your dissertation consultant is unsure about what to capitalize on. It will be taken care of by your doctoral consultant.

Using Numbers in Your Dissertation The numbers should also be applied in the  APA style and format for your dissertation / thesis.  APA style and the number format rules are usually as follows: 1.) Spell out common parts and common terms; 2) If a sentence is started with number, spell out number; 3) Spell out numbers below 10  (e.g. 'eight participants' and not '8 participants'); 4) Simply spell out numbers (e.g. "10 in total" vs "10 in total") if you are talking about numbers above 10) and 5) Please use the percentage number in tab

APA Style Tables, Charts & Figures in Your Dissertation You may also use statistical tables if you use any statistic in your paper.  These tables should also be in the format and style of APA.  Any APA design and table suggestions for formatting:  Number your tables consecutively and use no  letters (for example "1a," "1b"). Number your tables.  Mark the tables with a table  number and a detailed table information summary.  Offer the table row and column a name, so  that you know what the reader is referring to.  If numbers are less than one,  use a nil before the decimal point
