However, when the gloominess and withdrawal become debilitating, it may be an alarming bell putting you at risk of many serious conditions. Depression symptoms are always not as obvious as a normal human think they would be. Most of the time, the person suffering from depression is not even aware of the fact. The changes are often subtle which the depressed person may not notice but his/her friends and family members may. Besides, every depressed individual doesn’t follow the same pattern. So, it becomes harder to recognize them. Before the problems become severe, pay attention to some of these common symptoms of depression. Troubled sleep Trouble in sleeping and uncommon sleeping habits as well is some common symptom of depression. A depressed person often lies awake at night. On the contrary, the patient may also find it difficult to get out of bed and might be sleeping for longer periods through the day. Weight gain High level of stress and depression makes it difficult to lose weight. As a result, even after effective weight loss strategies, a depressed person doesn’t become successful in losing the extra pounds. In addition, some people find comfort in food and epicurean delights become a way to get out of their depressed zone for a while. This is also one of the reasons behind the weight gain of a depressed person. On the flip side, some may even lose loads of pound due to loss of appetite. In either case, it is advisable to take the person to a depression treatment in Sydney. Feel demotivated We all get out of bed in the morning having some motivation, like exercise, jogging, work, make breakfast, etc. But for depressed people, these pulls don’t exist. They become neutral and numb to any kind of motivation. It makes them cold, aloof, cut from the real world, and pushed away from their loved ones. It is one of the hallmark signs of mental illness that can be easily noticed in a person suffering from depression.
