Founded to help otolaryngologists achieve excellence through education, research and advocacy, the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) represents more than 12,000 physicians across the nation. <br>As a group, the AAO-HNS advocates on behalf of its members to inform officials in Washington on the importance of otolaryngology as a branch of medicine.<br>In addition to its advocating efforts, the AAO-HNS offers a number of resources for physicians including the latest developments on Medicare, Electronic Health Records, and e-Prescriptions.<br>The AAO-HNS is dedicated to continued medical education courses for its members, and its website at http://www.entnet.org holds a number of resources designed to help its members remain on the cutting edge of otolaryngological procedures and surgical techniques. <br>The AAO-HNS also publishes Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, a peer-reviewed journal, which encompasses all the latest announcements and studies in the world of Otolaryngology.<br>Dr. James Freije is an otolaryngologist and a fellow of the AAO-HNS. He continues to serve Central Pennsylvania as head and neck surgeon for the Mount Nittany Physician Group.<br>
