  2. Simeon lived with a constant hope that many in Israel shared, but he lived other things that are important about hope:

  3. Hope means something currently isn’t right and needs to change. Change is hard.

  4. Hope means that whoever is in charge of keeping things astheyare is going to have trouble.

  5. Hope sometimes means living with discontent for a long time, but trustingGod to be true to Hisword.

  6. Simeon recognized a hope that was very similar to others around him at the time, but it was different in two ways:

  7. Simeon’s hope was not just for hisownneeds to be met or protected- his hope was for thewholeworld.

  8. Simeon’s hope came from realizing that his realneeds, and those of othersaroundhim, were all trulyspiritual.

  9. When we hope, do we hope like Simeon- for spiritualchange that is good for the world, even if our pressing physical/emotionalcircumstances take a back seat?

  10. When we realize that God has acted and is delivering the hope Heknowswe need- are we willing to celebrate even if it means that we will experience some hardship or pain along the way as others resist His will?
