An addition to the battery family used generally in households are the 9 volt batteries. The four kinds of batteries- C, AA, D and AAA look more like each other’s scaled versions. All of them are dry cells which are cylindrical in shape with positive and negative terminals located at opposite ends of each other. All the mentioned batteries are 1.5 volt batteries. The batteries are of 1.2 volts for the ones which are rechargeable. These batteries vary greatly in size only to indicate the quantity of energy that is stored inside them.

Gain Higher Voltage without Much Current Using 9 Volt Batteries An addition to the battery family used generally in households are the 9 volt batteries. On the other hand, the 9 volt batteries are rectangular in shape with the terminals located side by side. They are designed in a way so that they can be snapped into a place securely. Unwrapping the outer cover of this battery explains the massive change in shape of these batteries. These batteries consist of six smaller batteries which resemble the looks of AAA cells miniaturized. These small batteries are arranged to form a six pack and are connected in series with each other. These small batteries are each of 1.5 volts. 1.5 X 6= 9V is thus obtained and this battery of higher voltage finds wide application in areas which require a high voltage but not a huge amount of current. Applications of these batteries 9 volt batteries find application in various fields. They can be used in metal detectors, walkie-talkies and R/C toy controllers. These batteries operate by forming electromagnetic fields. Formation of electromagnetic fields is a function of voltage rather than current. The speed of motorized toys which run on 2 AA batteries can be increased to a great extent when the battery of higher voltage is put to use. All that will be needed is tape along with aluminum foil for attaching the higher voltage battery to the toy. For more information check us.
