He was born in Oneonta, New York and grew up in Fredonia, and Delhi a village and town respectively in New York. He began his career in the medical sector and had finished a nursing degree in 1973, though he had to put his education on hold when he was drafted into the military.James R Hughes is a dedicated medical professional with over forty years’ experience. He spent almost his entire career working in the emergency care department. He currently works at one of the immediate care centers at the Georgia Emergency Assistance group in Bluffton, South Carolina. He is also one of the six founding members of the group and has worked hard to help it grow.

He joined medical school in 1971 and finished a nursing degree program shortly after. He was, however, forced to put a hold on his education when he was drafted into the army, where he served as a clinical specialist at the 85th Combat Support Hospital in Ft. Lee. After serving in the military, he returned to complete his schooling and worked alongside as a lab technician at a local hospital.

When he is not working or providing his expert medical opinion, he can be found exercising. He is a very active individual who likes to go running, swimming, and paddle boarding. In the winter, he enjoys skiing, which also happens to be his favorite winter activity.James R Hughes is an experienced medical professional who has been in the medical field for over forty years. He has spent his entire career serving patients in immediate and emergency care. His decision to work in the emergency room came after serving in the military as a clinical specialist and providing medical assistance to special operatives.
