Glacial Movement. Here’s what we already know…. The Ice Age was a period when huge glaciers covered the Earth. It was hard for things to grow because it was so cold. Eventually, the temperature of the Earth increased and the ice melted. This allowed hunter-gatherers to farm and grow crops.

Here’s what we already know… • The Ice Age was a period when huge glaciers covered the Earth. • It was hard for things to grow because it was so cold. • Eventually, the temperature of the Earth increased and the ice melted. • This allowed hunter-gatherers to farm and grow crops. • Hunter-gatherer societies then developed from a gathering society to an agricultural society.

Movie • We’re going to watch a video • During this video, pay attention to what it says about glacial movement. • THINK… • How do you think glacial movement contributed to the fact that hunter-gatherer societies transitioned from a hunter-gatherer society to an agricultural society? • How do you think glacial movement benefitted the land?
