Management of primary PPH Placenta not delivered • Call for help • Rub up the fundus of the uterus for a contraction • Empty the bladder. • Give Oxytocin 10 units IM. • Explain to the patient the condition and plan of care. • Apply CCT with the next contraction.
Management of primary PPH • If placenta still not delivered, commence IV N/S with 20-40 units of Oxytocin • A second attempt of CCT should be tried. • If CCT fails proceed to manual removal of the placenta. • Refer to video on management of retained placenta on CMS
