    2. An “Interactive Candy” Experience Ever eaten PEZ candy? Ever used a PEZ dispenser? Ever want a PEZ dispenser?

    3. I will show you how… PEZ candy originated in Europe, traveled to the United States, & evolved into the famous candy-toy combo it is today.

    6. PEZ travels to the United States… PEZ was first introduced in the US in 1952. However, it did not take off as a breath mint alternative to smoking for adults. When Haas noticed this lack of enthusiasm, he quickly changed gears. PEZ was soon turned into a fruity flavored candy, with a toy type dispenser and marketed towards children. Haas became the pioneer of interactive candy.PEZ was first introduced in the US in 1952. However, it did not take off as a breath mint alternative to smoking for adults. This image demonstrates to us how much PEZ candy dispensers have become a part of our culture and politics. The PEZ dispenser is something that most Americans can recognize and identify with.     11. PEZ Collectors Finally, Pez dispenser have become a hot item for collectors, much like Beanie Babies. Collectors look for different shapes, sizes, colors and characters of PEZ dispensers. Different articles suggest different answers to the question. Some call it simple PEZlore, while others attribute Ebay’s existence to avid PEZ collectors. “Collectors can easily trade and purchase the dispensers online… eBay was created in 1995 by Pierre Omidyar specifically to buy and sell PEZ Candy dispensers.” These collectors self-identify as PEZheads and regularly attend annual PEZ conventions all of the United States, the most notable of which, is the longest running annual PEZ convention in Ohio.
