2. What is Sport wants? Sport wants is a policy program for sport.
RF member sports have produced common guidelines for organizing sport in associations and clubs. Idrottens vill (Sport wants) is the Swedish sports movements policy program. It embodies the sports movements principles, vision and ideals as well as guidelines for organizing sporting activities in the federations and clubs that are members of the Swedish Sports Confederation. Idrotten vill is also an attempt to define the concept of sport, what it means to be good at sport and what is good sport.
In this presentation we shall look more closely at these and other issues that are addressed in Idrotten vill:

The first version of Idrotten vill dates from 1995.
Idrottens vill (Sport wants) is the Swedish sports movements policy program. It embodies the sports movements principles, vision and ideals as well as guidelines for organizing sporting activities in the federations and clubs that are members of the Swedish Sports Confederation. Clubs are the foundation of the sports movement and it is in clubs that the vast majority of sporting activities take place. Under the umbrella of the Swedish Sports Confederation there are about 20 000 clubs; from very large clubs with tens of thousands of members to tiny neighbourhood sports clubs with only a handful of members.
Idrotten vill (Sport wants) is an aid to organizing and developing sport at both club and federation levels.
As a statement of the ideals of the sports movement it helps us to choose the right strategy for achieving better sport; for making Swedish sport the best sport in the world.
