  2. 609-597 BC The reign of the godless King Jehoiakim in Judah, who followed Josiah, a good king who brought about great religious reforms. 607 BC The approximate writing of the prophecy of Habakkuk, predicting the destruction of Jerusalem and the captivity of many of the people by the great Babylonian/Chaldean Empire. 598-7 BC The 1st siege and fall of Jerusalem, with some captives taken including King Jehoiakim
