Module Summary • In this module we will discover: • Why a training Class may be subject to oversight assessment • Requirements applicable to the oversight of a training class • 9104-002 (Section 7.10) • How to conduct TPAB Oversight • Office Assessment including 9104-002 Form I • 9104-003 requirements called up by Form I
Oversight Assessment of Training Courses • Where does the requirement reside? • 9104-002 section 7.10 • Only conducted ‘when deemed necessary’ (9104-002 Table 1) • Why Oversight a training class? • Primarily to ‘mitigate risk’ (9104-002 section 7.1.3) • Could be to supplement TPAB activity (9104-003 section 5.5) • e.g. to supplement or validate SMS recognition of a training course
Oversight Assessment of Training Courses • 9104-002 Oversight requirements: • The process is a witnessed assessment • Do not influence the course • Feedback only after completion of the training course • Oversight requires to be conducted by an OP Assessor (as normal) • Supported by TPAB course evaluator and TP management team
Items to assess per 9104-003 Clause 6 • Class size and duration (6.1) • Presentation and Organization (6.2) • At least 30% workshop, case studies, role playing, etc. • Course Materials (6.3) • Instructor Qualifications (6.4) and demonstrated competence • Facilities (6.5) • Written Examination (6.7) • Continual Evaluation (6.8) • Grading: Pass/Fail Decisions (6.9) • Security (6.13) • And, adoption of any applicable IAQG OPMT Resolutions
9104-002 Form I Check Sheet: • If witnessing a TP training class you will need to use the Form I check sheet • Review the check sheet now: • Questions on content?
Other items to note: • 9104-001 clause 11.1.c): • Any OP assessor conducting oversight of a training class shall not receive credit for class attendance or participation, and shall not provide any input during the training class. • TPAB’s are required to ensure that credit is not awarded
After the TP Assessment: • Remember the TPAB is the auditee • Provide report to the TPAB and SMS or CBMC • Issue 9104-002 Form D Nonconformity Record for any determined nonconformance to the TPAB • Ensure the TPAB and SMS or CBMC have records of the verification and closure of any Form D Nonconformity Records
