2. Digital Access • This theme of digital access is all about the world being connected to the internet. Over the last decade and a half or so technology wasn’t so much about internet and pretty much the only people online were scientists, and big corporations. But nowadays kids as young as 6 and seniors as old as 98 are online. But still in some countries children don’t even have power not to mention internet. About only 5% of Africa is online while about 90% are on in North America.

3. Digital Communication • Digital Comm has become HUGE in the last decade or so now everyone is connected by cell phone, email and facebook. It allows everyone to be connected at all times and never out of the loop. But it is not always the best thing because now bullying has found its way on to the networks and has become extremely popular for a lot of young teens!

4. Digital Literacy • IS the ability to learn to use and access things online the news, references, info and other things like multi-media and social-networking. If more people learned to use internet and tech there would be more changes in society and as it becomes more widely available the world will change. But you need to be careful when you put yourself out there because there are things you should be very careful about like using a real name, address or phone #.

5. Safety and Security These days teens are not very educated when they consider posting stuff online they post inappropriate pictures and other things that they thing are okay but what they don’t realize is that the whole world can see them and once they are online there are there forever. Also they don’t hesitate to talk to strangers when they could be a sex offender that id hiding in a disguise online to lure kids in. And it is nothing new predators have been online very since the chat rooms were open for them to creep in.

6. “Netiquette” is like your morals for being online. There is an unwritten code that most of us use online and that is to treat others with respect and not be rude toward them and the things that they say or post. But others don’t follow that code and cyber-bully others through email, blog or web! Digital Etiquette

7. Rights and Responsibilities • Usually websites and severs set up their own set of rules, rights and responsibilities that they get their users to agree to before they can use they website. They do this because it makes things run a lot easier and safe when people are following the law and not messing with the website and if they do an admin from the site usually punishes the user.

8. There are people online that act as the law They are hackers hired by companies to find other hackers on their site and then inform the police to deal with them. Some people hack to steal money and even though they don’t literally take the cash from them it is still stealing and still illegal! Digital Law

9. Health and wellness • Some people make the internet their life but that is not healthy. An internet addict loses all care for any thing but the cyber world and it is a problem becoming worse and worse among young teens

10. Commerce Digital Commerce is the buying and selling things online like eBay, Amazon or Kijiji. More and more popular because it is easy and really cheap.
